ICON Brigitte Bardot and her signature Cat Eye Look




Brigitte Bardot was born in Paris 28 September 1934 as Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot. She started her acting career in 1952 and, after appearing in 16 films, became world-famous due to her role due to And God Created Woman. Bardot was one of the few European actresses to have the mass media's attention in the United States.

Brigitte Bardot has become one of the greatest influences through time: In fashion the Bardot neckline (a wide open neck that exposes both shoulders) is named after her. She popularized bikini swimwear in early films such as Manina and Cannes photoshoots. Robert Cavalli found inspiration in her makeup for his spring 2009 runway show. A sort of beehive hairstyle was also brought by Brigitte into fashion.

Brigitte Bardot became extremely popular in US in 1960s when almost every woman tried to choose an element from her look and run with the trend.
