MAKEUP THE WORLD: Paris Fashion Week 2012

Watching the fierce fashion walk the runway is always a thrill during Fashion Week’s all over the world. This week, Paris took their turn at the haute couture and surely didn’t disappoint! We were loving the fabulous looks that lit up the catwalk in the City of Light, especially in the realm of beauty and the makeup that makes these looks come alive! Check out a few of our favorites…

VALENTINO AUTUMN 2012
Minimalism meets artistic vibrancy with Valentino’s Autumn 2012 runway looks. Tight librarian-inspired buns adorned the models, while the makeup was kept to the bare essentials, lending beautifully to the collection. Capture a similar look with a matte foundation and a natural lip tint like MAC Cosmetic’s Lipstick in "Crème Cup", $14.50.

ELIE SAAB AUTUMN 2012
Elie Saab is arguably the most revered at Hollywood glamour evening wear, and this collection of Paris catwalk couture was certainly a showstopper. Sparkly gowns that will most certainly be Oscar red carpet repeats were accented by fairytale braided hair, but it was the dewy skin, soft pink lips and cheeks, and subtle wing liner that completed the imperial style. Those pretty pink cheeks can be yours with just a touch of Make Up For Ever’s HD Microfinish Blush in “Vibrant Pale Pink”, $26.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER AUTUMN 2012
Funky meets ferocious fashion in the edgy and urban style of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Paris collection. The clothes were seriously stunning, but it may have been the innovative headpieces and metro makeup that were the real statement pieces. Deep kohl-outlined eyes, pops of coral lipstick, and pitch black nails cultivated a look of a chic circus with this fashion ringleader. Stila’s Smudge Pot in "Black", $20, is perfect to replicate those dynamic eyes!

FRANCK SORBIER AUTUMN 2012
Haute couture took a blast into the future of fashion with Franck Sorbier’s prospective runway fashion, giving Paris a futuristic feel. A stark contrast was his ethereal, almost Renaissance-like makeup and hair, which was complimented by long lashes, pretty pink pouts, and smudged liners. To make lashes stretch to any galaxy, we recommend Too Faced's Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System, $35.
