ICON Daphne Guinness
The Honourable Daphne Diana Joan Suzannah Guinness was born 9 November 1967 in Hampstead, London.
Guinness has designed a range of clothing with Dover Street Market and released a fragrance with Comme des Garçons in 2009.
Daphne is famous for her haute couture collection. She has been collecting fashion for several years.
Daphne Guinness is one of the speakers during the Symposium at the Museum at FIT this year. She draws from her personal collection, which includes spectacular garments by designers such as Azzedine Alai¨a, Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Haute Couture, and Valentino.
In 2006 her friend Shaun Leane created a gold and diamond arm glove for Daphne. The glove took five years to create and is considered to be one of the most technically advanced pieces of jewels in the world. The glove is called 'Contra Mundum' or 'Against The World'.
Daphne Guinness was a model in Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief runway show for the White Ribbon Alliance to raise funds for mothers in Haiti in 2010.
In September 2010, NARS Cosmetics launched a new collection dedicated to her.
This year Daphne is collaborating with MAC Cosmetics for a "color collection" (eye shadows, lipsticks, etc.) that will debut this winter.
