Donatella Versace, Christopher Kane, Pat McGrath: Backstage at Versus

Hairstylist Guido Palau says the hair for the collection "younger, a little more rock & roll, a bit cooler," He describes the collection. "It has all the Versace signatures, the colors, the toughness, but it just feels--it just feels different. It has a different eye. It's not so grown up. Do you know what I mean? It feels like the younger sister or something of the Versace woman." Makeup Artist Pat McGrath says the look for the Versus show is tougher and stronger. "We used black eyeliner, black pencil, black shadow," she says, "Slightly pulled out into a wing with brown shadow going up to the brows, groomed brows, natural skin, natural lips with a little bit of concealer, they look gorgeous." "It's London, a girl who likes rock & roll, again a little bit mysterious, tough," Donatella Versace describes the collection as she stands with Versus co-designer Christopher Kane. She says the girl is one that hangs out in Camden and goes to special clubs. "To break rules," she adds. "There's a lot happening this season at Versus," Christopher Kane says, "A lot of textures, a lot of color. We looked at punk, we looked at a lot of London, Camden, and we looked back at the archive for Versus for prints."
